Career and Technology Studies (CTS) are programs which offer Alberta students opportunities to develop technology-related skills, enhance employability skills and develop skills that can be applied to careers, the workplace or further education.
Each credit earned in the CTS program requires about 20-25 hours to complete.

Computer Science 10
5 credits
Are you interested in writing computer programs? In this course you will use the JavaScript programming 5.js library language to develop skills to design algorithms and program a robot (using Lego EV3).
The Computer Science AP program offers two AP exams:
Computer Science Principles 20 AP
5 credits
Level 20 builds on the concepts solving more complex problems and explores different programming languages.
Computer Science A 30 AP
5 credits
The 30 level course can be used as a 30-level science credit for admission to many post secondary institutions.
3 or 5 credits
Fees applicable
These 3-credit or 5-credit courses provide hands-on classes to help students develop their woodworking skills. In Construction Technologies, there are 46 possible courses, from wood turning to cabinet making.

The Cosmetology courses cover modules from the Alberta Hairstyling Apprenticeship Program. These include hairstyling, up-dos, colouring, cutting and client services.

Designed to prepare students to be successful in the food service industry. Training in a commercial style kitchen mentored by Red Seal chefs! Once completing the 2 year course, students may challenge the first year Alberta Apprenticeship Cook Technical Training.

The esthetic courses delve into the essential areas of the beauty industry. At the entry level students will learn a wide array of techniques such as personal hygiene and grooming, proper skin care practices, manicuring, makeup application and theatrical makeup techniques.
Level 20 focuses on gel nail applications, hair removal, intermediate makeup application, advanced facial treatments.
In level 30 acrylic nails and lash applications, brow laminations and advanced level theatrical makeup techniques are explored.

Fashion students will learn basic techniques to create clothing and accessories.
Intermediate students work with specialty fabrics and create more advanced projects.
Advanced students learn about couture fashion while creating more student directed projects.

Intended for Art, Ceramics, Graphic Arts, Design or Photography students wanting to develop a portfolio of most recent work for entrance to a post-secondary institution, scholarship applications, or applying for apprenticeships and jobs.
If applying for post-secondary it is recommended taking Art 35 Portfolio in semester one as their entrance deadlines start in late winter.
This is a project-based course and there is a course fee.
Prerequisite: 30 level credit in Art, Ceramics, Design, Graphics Arts or Photography (these credits may be taken concurrently with this course).
