We offer a variety of language courses and recognize that students have differing levels of proficiency and experience in a second or third language.

Students registering in French are assumed to have studied French for three to six years and to have completed Grade 9 French. Beginning French students should discuss their registration with the Global Languages Department Head.

Students who register in Spanish 10 and Japanese 10 are assumed to have no previous experience with those languages.

*Any previous French Immersion students, or students whose first language is French, Japanese or Spanish must complete an entrance interview for placement in the appropriate level second language course.
