I have been teaching at Paul Kane High School since 1979!! I grew up in Edmonton, went to high school in Edmonton and worked for a few years before deciding to become a teacher. I graduated from the University of Alberta with an Education degree - my major area of studies was home economics and minor area of study was instrumental music.
My husband and I have three daughters - one of whom is currently teaching in Japan, one just entered the U of A, and one is still in high school. Everyone in the McNeil household plays soccer. Both my husband and myself have coached soccer in our community for many years. I was nominated by our community league and received the "Community Volunteer of the Year Award." I have been the soccer coordinator for our community league for 10 years and am on the Board of Directors for the Edmonton West Zone Soccer Association.
Included in our family are three dogs - two Labs and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I have become an expert at "decorating for doghair", although this is not a topic covered in fashion design class.
I am so fortunate to teach in an area that is my hobby as well as an area of trained expertise.
I welcome all former students to drop by to visit and am honoured when you do so after you graduate.
