Course Prerequisites

Most courses offered at Paul Kane are governed by prerequisite requirements.  Registration in courses will be tentative until prerequisite standing is verified.  At least a 50% standing is normally required before a student is allowed to go on to the next level in the 10-2, 20-2, 30-2 course sequences.   A standing of 65% or better is strongly recommended in the 10-1, 20-1, 30-1 course sequences.  Students not achieving 50% may repeat the course or if their mark is between 45% - 50%, they may continue at the next higher level in an alternative program route (e.g. from English Language Arts 20-1 to English Language Arts 30-2).  If the student successfully completes the higher-level course, the student would then be granted credit for the prerequisite course in that sequence.
