ACE 10

Achievement, Credits, Encouragement

The ACE 10 program is designed for students who have experienced some academic difficulty in grade 9, and who will benefit from the extra support and assistance of teachers and staff in their grade 10 year. Students work mainly with one teacher in their core classes. As they work towards improving their marks and recovering some lost ground from grade 9, students benefit from the targeted support of a teacher and teacher assistant. Program enrolment is limited to approximately 18 students.

Students enrolled in this program take English 10-2, Social Studies 10-2, Math 10-3 and Science 14. English and Social Studies will be unsemestered courses to allow students greater time spent reading, writing, and processing new concepts. One of the goals of the program is to have students experience success in all of their grade 10 courses so they can then begin their grade 11 year with as many credits as possible.

Students considering this program should apply through their Junior High Counsellor. Please note that this class is not for students who disrupt the class because of poor behavior, but rather a class for students who need to, and want to improve their progress and learning.

Grade 10 will be the year to Ace It!
